Negative
A photographic film or paper in which all the dark areas appear light and
vice versa. Negatives are used extensively in the reproduction process
and are either made direct from originals or from a positive, or produced
by an imagesetter. Facility (sometimes called inverting), of some
computer applications to reverse the screen bit map so that the black
pixels appear white and vice versa.
